WoodenBoat Videos

Over the past few years, I have been hired to create increasingly more video content for my clients. I enjoy both forms of storytelling, stills and motion, as each has its attributes and challenges. However, much of the content I create is ‘private’ and cannot be shared with the public. Fortunately, these ‘teaser’ videos I produced for WoodenBoat’s Legend series can be shared. You can subscribe to Woodenboat Mastering Skills to view the full-length videos of each or click on the links below to watch the teasers. The full-length video of GRAYLING has also been made available to the public by WoodenBoat on their YouTube channel.

GRAYLING was built by Frank Rice of East Boothbay, Maine, for use by his brother George Rice in seining for herring and mackerel. She was restored and converted to a private yacht in 1996 by Doug Hylan.

The famous schooner BRILLIANT was designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by the Nevins Yard in 1930. Since 1953, Brilliant has operated as a sail-training vessel at the Mystic Seaport Museum.

The East Passage 24 was designed by Walter Ansel, and built by Carter Richardson and his team at East Passage Boatwrights.
